Piaget

Recognized by many, worn by a happy few.

I remember the first two times I saw a Piaget watch.

The first time was on the cover of Town & Country magazine back in the 1980's. It was a women's watch covered in marquise Rubys and round diamonds wrapped around a Christmas ornament. I may still have the magazine I was so impressed with the time piece. The second time was in Ceasars Palce in Las Vegas also in the 1980's. It was the classic Polo watch completely covered in round diamonds. It was so sparkly you could not even tell what time it was. I believe it was priced at $250,000.00. If you have a Piaget watch you would like to sell, we very likely have a buyer for you.

Interesting Piaget Tidbits

In 1960, Piaget designed the “Calibre12P”, the thinnest automatic movement in the world, with a thickness of 2.3 mm, as per the Guinness Book of Records.

Piage also makes coin watches, ring watches, brooch watches and cufflink watches.

In 2014, Piaget presented the Altiplano 900P. It is just 3.65 millimeters (about 1/8th of an inch) and is the world’s thinnest hand-wound mechanical watch.

In 1964, Piaget launched their semi-precious watches with dials of: lapis-lazuli, turquoise, onyx and tiger’s eye.

One of Piagets most iconic watch is the “Polo” watch. Designed in 1979. It came in all price ranges from all gold to gold completely covered with diamonds, or in between with just a diamond face, or diamond bezel, or stripes of diamonds. Also a classic favorite is the “Dancer” collection which was launched in 1986.
